Stradbroke CE Primary School

Salary: £24,414 per annum pro rata

Hours: 10 hours per week, Monday – Friday 3:10 – 5:10pm, term time only

Contract: Permanent, required as soon as possible

Stradbroke CE Primary School are looking to appoint an Activity Worker from after January 2026.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • assisting in the delivery of a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children in wraparound care, including ensuring Early Years and Ofsted ratios/standards are maintained
  • planning, organising and helping children with independent play and managing social relationships, in conjunction with the team
  • keeping registers and all relevant paperwork up to date
  • being proactive in matters relating to health and safety, food hygiene and to be familiar with, and work within, the required Health and Safety standards as laid out in the school’s policy
  • dealing with child related incidents in a safe and sensitive way, completing appropriate paperwork
  • ensuring areas used within school are left clean and tidy ready for their next use
  • fully implementing all relevant school policies, especially those linked to Safeguarding and Child Protection.
You will have:
  • experience of working in an education setting committed to the inclusion agenda would be preferable
  • knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding
  • a friendly yet professional and respectful approach which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect
  • commitment to the needs of the children, parents and other stakeholders and challenge barriers and blocks to providing an effective service
  • a demonstratable “can do” attitude including suggesting solutions, participating, trusting and encouraging others and achieving expectations
  • knowledge and understanding of First Aid (training can be provided)
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to work well with children and adults
  • good organising, time-keeping and prioritising skills
  • a good attention to detail
  • an open, honest demeanour and be an active listener
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality in and outside the workplace.
