Accounts Assistant (Part-time)

The role:

An opportunity has arisen for a part time Accounts Assistant to join our Admin Team.

Based at our Head Office in Newbridge, Edinburgh, this is a varied role supporting the day-to-day functions of the finance department, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, payments, credit cards and expense claims
  • Maintain the bank feed and prepare weekly reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Assist with weekly and monthly journal entries and reporting
  • Reconcile supplier statements and utility accounts
  • Monitor and process incoming post and emails to the finance mailbox
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team
  • Other ad-hoc duties as specified by the business

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience in a varied commercial finance function and a good working knowledge of basic accounting processes
  • Be proficient in accounting software (preferably Sage) and Excel
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Be enthusiastic, diligent, and work well both as an individual and as part of a small team

The part time role is for 3 days per week; for an initial 6 month period with the possibility to expand duties and to become permanent thereafter.

The salary will be dependent on experience.
