Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
  • Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.

Location: Millington Road, Hayes, UB3-4AZ

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Attewell is a fast-growing aerospace manufacturing business based in Hayes, Middlesex. We are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join our team.

Role Profile

This role will support the finance team with financial transactions and queries, focusing mainly on accounts payables, receivables, and cash management. You will work closely with our customer service, purchasing, and dispatch teams. Attention to detail and prompt resolution of ledger issues are essential. The Accounts Assistant reports directly to the Acting Finance Director, who will assist with learning and technical aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring mailboxes and promptly addressing email communications and queries.
  2. Handling and processing AP invoices within Yooz.
  3. Dealing with suppliers regarding payments and statement reconciliations.
  4. Managing expense requests and credit card postings.
  5. Preparing and executing scheduled payment runs (BACS, Proforma, and Foreign Currency).
  6. Processing return requests from Dispatch.
  7. Managing the C Class customer ledger, reconciling accounts, and collecting payments based on payment terms, via email and telephone.
  8. Investigating and resolving customer invoice queries.
  9. Participating in credit control meetings to update on payment statuses and resolve issues.
  10. Liaising with Customer Services and Dispatch regarding credit limits, proforma customers, and credit stops.
  11. Recording cash transactions in the cashbook and posting to SAP.
  12. Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
  13. Supporting the month-end process, including bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, stock clearing, credit card journal posting, and accruals.
  14. Performing ad-hoc projects or investigations as requested.
  15. Assisting auditors during year-end with information and queries.

Key Experiences & Characteristics

  • Previous AP or AR experience; support and training provided for areas needing exposure.
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP B1.
  • Organized, thorough, accurate, professional, and trustworthy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and motivated.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Flexibility and reliability within the finance team and company.

Working Hours and Benefits

Friday: 8:15 am to 12:45 pm. Additional hours may be required for month-end close.
