Job description
Overview

We are seeking someone who is interested in pursuing a career in finance with strong desire to be involved in system applications and emerging technologies. This role will focus on delivering internal efficiencies through technology, optimizing financial systems, and enabling the adoption of new technologies including AI and automation tools whilst working within an accounting team focused on US GAAP accounting and supporting local reporting across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to evaluate, recommend, and integrate new financial technologies to improve process efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain automated tools to support day-to-day operations.
  • Help train and mentor accounting staff on system applications and technology usage.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in accounting technology.
  • Accounting entries will vary by workstream:
    • Payroll and employee benefits accounting
    • Prepayments and accruals
    • Fixed Asset accounting
    • Lease capitalization accounting
    • Analytical review of allocated workstream area
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Work with statutory accounting teams to ensure filings are completed and compliance obligations met.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Good knowledge of spreadsheet applications
  • Positive attitude to challenges
  • Adaptable to change, sometimes at short notice
  • Ability to learn new software or technologies quickly and independently
  • Exposure to data manipulation and automation tools such as Power Apps, Alteryx, or other ETL platforms is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, or similar scripting languages to analyze and automate financial data processes is highly desirable
  • Ability to interact with a range of colleagues up to and including senior management level
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in working a finance organisation, ideally in an SSC environment is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of a European foreign language is beneficial but not essential.
