As a key member of our support team, you will provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, sensory needs, and learning delays. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for every child.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and group basis, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans, EHCP targets, and interventions.
  • Use a variety of communication methods (visual aids, social stories, Makaton, etc.) to support understanding.
  • Promote positive behaviour through patience, de-escalation techniques, and consistent routines.
  • Help create a calm, nurturing, and safe learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to ensure inclusive practice.
  • Support pupils with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing throughout the day.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Assist with personal care tasks when required (training provided).
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and improving outcomes for all learners.
  • Has experience or a strong interest in working with children with additional needs.
  • Shows empathy, patience, and a positive, calm approach.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Can work well as part of a team and is confident following guidance from teachers and the SENCO.
  • Is flexible, proactive, and committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
What We Offer
  • A welcoming, supportive school community.
  • Ongoing training and professional development (e.g., Team Teach, Makaton, Autism Awareness).
  • Opportunities to grow within the school and wider trust.
  • A rewarding role where you will directly contribute to helping children thrive.
