Jobbeschreibung

Intro

At NexWafe, we are developing a pioneering process to produce silicon wafers for PV applications with fewer process steps, leading to significant reductions in production costs, energy consumption, and CO₂ emissions.

As a Process Development Engineer (m/f/d), you will have a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the commercialization of this breakthrough technology by shaping a product strategy based on market trends, customer input, and internal goals. You will define and refine a technical and cost roadmap, exploring future applications such as LEO, HJT, Tandem, and TOPCon.

Join our global team, help shape the future of renewable energy, and explore exciting career opportunities at NexWafe!

Your Mission

  • Performance analysis of epitaxially grown Epi wafers in Tandem/HJT/TOPcon assembly in terms of efficiency, Voc, Isc, FF, etc., compared to Cz-grown Si wafers
  • Analyze and differentiate various failure modes of Si wafers in Solar cell configurations and trace back to the root cause related to material properties of epitaxially grown monocrystalline silicon
  • Analyze and improve material defects in epitaxially grown monocrystalline silicon wafers, leading to higher cell efficiencies
  • Along with colleagues, determine improvements in other process steps besides epitaxial deposition to improve material properties and cell efficiencies
  • Design experiments in epitaxial deposition to engineer material properties that could be enhancements compared to Cz-grown Si wafers in the manufacture of solar cells of various architectures

Your profile

  • Degree (Master preferred) in Engineering or Science, e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science
  • Experience in solar cell manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years experience in relevant field (solar cell analysis)
  • Experience in silicon-based solar cell/Module Failure Analysis
  • Fluent in English

Why us?

  • A diverse team: Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies, and collaboration with experts from different areas await you.
  • A diverse and exciting job: A company that contributes to the commercialization of environmentally friendly solar energy with a low carbon footprint.
  • Stability with a certain degree of flexibility: A permanent position with flexible working hours.
  • Attractive remuneration program: An attractive salary, a company pension scheme, and profit-sharing for employees.
  • Healthy balance: Take your physical and mental health to the next level with an annual health budget and a HanseFit membership!
  • Expand your language skills: Optimize your career prospects with the language courses offered.

About Us

At NexWafe, we're striving to set a new standard for the future of photovoltaic wafer production. The need for efficient, affordable, and cleanly produced solar technology has never been greater – we're rising to meet that challenge.
