NAC is currently seeking a Network & Systems Administrator to join our IT team at our Head Office location in Morriston, ON.

Job Description

The Network & Systems Administrator serves as the primary technical lead, overseeing the organization’s entire IT infrastructure. The role ensures continuous monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of network systems, cloud environments, and end‑point devices. The Network & Systems Administrator collaborates closely with vendors and the IT department to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable services, while also taking ownership of strategic infrastructure initiatives. The role encompasses responsibilities such as architecture design, vendor and contract management, and life cycle oversight of all infrastructure assets. The role manages user provisioning, virtual environments, and business‑critical platforms. The Network & Systems Administrator plays a key role in policy enforcement, and long‑term technology planning aligned with organizational goals.

Position Duties
  • Prioritize and manage requests based on severity, impact, and business urgency.
  • Provide senior expertise and an escalation path for the IT support team, helping resolve issues as necessary and engaging with NAC users as required.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendly demeanor in all user interactions.
  • Administer and support all network servers, peripherals, and endpoints.
  • Manage software and infrastructure development, system imaging, configuration, upgrades and security patching across the network.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as VPN routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Manage VPN infrastructure and services, including setup, configurations, and maintenance for secure site‑to‑site and remote access connectivity.
  • Set up and manage Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Create and maintain user access groups, organizational units, and security permissions in accordance with company policies.
  • Configure and maintain endpoint policies and device profiles for organization‑owned equipment through Microsoft Intune.
  • Deploy, enroll, and manage devices within Microsoft Intune for both Windows and MDM.
  • Administer Microsoft Azure services, including roles, groups, and security assignments.
  • Manage Exchange Online environments, including mailboxes, aliases, permissions, shared mailboxes, and retention policies.
  • Manage and implement user onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Create and maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation for infrastructure related systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies, applications, and cybersecurity best practices. Research and recommend practices that enhance organization cybersecurity.
  • Test and validate software functionality from a network/infrastructure perspective; review logs and proactively address performance and/or security issues.
  • Anticipate and resolve potential IT issues before they impact users or business operations.
  • Protect organizational data and systems by adhering to strict confidentiality and cybersecurity standards.
  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership by contributing to departmental initiatives and organizational goals.
  • Support and maintain virtual machines (VMs) including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and snapshots within hypervisor environments (e.g. VMware, Hyper‑V, or Synology Virtual Machine Manager).
  • Own routine maintenance of all infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage network/infrastructure disaster recovery procedures and participate in periodic tests.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT support, system administration, and/or network management.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD/Entra ID).
  • Hands‑on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user access management.
  • Proficient in configuring and supporting VPNs, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration and PowerShell scripting.
  • Understanding of network security, endpoint security, data protection and access management.
  • Familiarity with backup, recovery, and monitoring solutions.
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles or experience in a ticket‑based ITSM environment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCSA, or equivalent) are preferred.
  • Experience with cloud‑based management tools and automation platforms are preferred.
  • Familiarity with SonicWall, TP‑Link, or similar VPN/router solutions.
