Title: Histologist - Float
Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital
Location: Tampa, FL | Team Float for Hillsborough County
Status: Full time, Exempt: No
Shift Hours: Hours Will Vary
Weekend Work: Occasional
On Call: No
Responsible for all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide including special stains and techniques
Maintains all files, records, and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards
Cleans and maintains equipment and instruments
Stocks and maintains supplies
Must possess interpersonal and customer service skills
Demonstrates organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills
Works both independently and with a team
Possess computer skills appropriate to position
Uses and understands medical terminology
Performs other duties as assigned
Required – Histology
Preferred – ASCP
Required – High School or Equivalent
Preferred – Technical Degree in Histotechnology
Preferred – Associates in Related Field
Preferred – 1 Year Laboratory Related
