Job Summary

Responsibilities

• May have responsibility for staff; has authority to hire, fire, and discipline.
• Oversees the process for collecting, reporting, and maintaining information necessary to ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
• Coordinates all activities necessary for compliance with the Safe Medical Device Act and investigates allegations of an EMTALA violation.
• Participates in audits of departments/processes for regulatory and accreditation compliance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Under the direction of leadership, implements Risk Management Program practices to avoid or reduce loss to the organization.
• Collaborates with other departments to develop and assure implementation of patient safety and high‑reliability initiatives.
• Acts as a resource for department and all staff in addressing risk management issues.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a patient‑care related field.
• Experience: 3 years in direct patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification: CPHRM or CPPS Certification.
