A community-based family support organization in Florida is seeking a professional to oversee the licensing of foster homes and ensure compliance with state standards. The role requires collaboration with caregivers and child welfare professionals, and emphasizes strong communication and organizational skills. Family Support Services (FSS) is committed to providing safety, stability, and quality of life for children by strengthening families within the community.
The major function of this position is the initial and relicensing of family foster homes and ensuring statutory licensing requirements and guidelines are met. The role assures that foster homes meet state standards, maintains and retains the homes, offers support to caregivers and coordinates services as needed. The position works in partnership with child welfare professionals from the Department of Children and Families, FSS, and subcontracted case management organizations and closely with the FSS placement team.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Prior experience with licensing and working with at‑risk children preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Valid driver’s license. Current certification in First Aid and CPR is recommended. Florida Child Welfare Licensing Counselor certification is required for this position – active certification or ability to meet certification criteria.
