We’re looking for a skilled Technical Release Engineer to lead the release management for AT&T’s Digital and omnichannel platform. You’ll manage critical products and Java/Node.js microservices deployed on Azure and on-premises, ensuring smooth, reliable releases. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration across teams to optimize deployment processes and improve release efficiency.
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Git workflows to automate build, test, and deployment.
Coordinate and execute release activities, managing dependencies, risks, and schedules across teams.
Troubleshoot deployment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to ensure reliable releases.
Communicate release plans, timelines, and requirements clearly with stakeholders and leadership.
Lead release meetings, collaborate with development teams, and support on-call incident resolution.
Maintain release documentation, processes, and continuously recommend improvements.
7+ years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development, deployment engineering, software release management, or related roles.
Strong hands-on skills with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git workflows, and scripting required (Python preferred).
Deep understanding of Java and Node.js microservices architecture, and Azure cloud fundamentals required.
Excellent project coordination and risk management abilities across complex releases.
Effective communication skills to engage technical teams and executive leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Our Lead System Engineering earns between $143,800-$215,800 USD annually, excluding other rewards that AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
