Summary of Position

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for designing and managing Electrical Engineering projects from conception to completion. The candidate will lead a team of Project Engineers and Project Designers, apply experience in electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and overall MEP design, and coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers. Responsibilities include fully planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deliverables, schedules, and budgets for assigned clients, overseeing quality aspects and technical support for projects across various industry markets, and providing financial analysis and reporting for projects and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary client communication resource and lead point of contact for clients.
  • Act as a local MEP leader to support regional growth.
  • Manage multiple projects with multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub‑consultants, including scope of work language for various project types.
  • Handle A/Rs, efficiency evaluations, profit evaluations and overall financial management for all projects.
  • Plan staffing and establish budget hours within project parameters for all assigned staff; analyze cost versus planned hours for disciplines and staff; maintain phase and task level budgets.
  • Manage staff and staffing schedules throughout project duration.
  • Oversee project scheduling for all related activities for all parties involved.
  • Participate in business development opportunities, provide RFP support including market research, and attend marketing functions, business dinners, and cross‑marketing with other offices.
  • Conduct site visit investigations and generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
  • Review and oversee design plans, including calculations, and serve as a resource for design knowledge and subject matter expertise.
  • Coordinate with third‑party professional services, equipment vendors/manufacturers, and assist with addendums, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior design/engineering staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
  • P.E. license preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of combined electrical design and project management experience.
  • Experience managing a team or staff.
  • Design experience across multiple markets, including PV/solar, battery energy storage, electric vehicle, and resilient generator design (a plus).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; Revit experience is a plus.
  • Arc Flash/Short Circuit software experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of municipal codes.
  • Strong organization and communication skills; capable of delegating to staff, project planning, and scheduling.
Team

You will work with a team of Design Engineers, Professional Engineers, and Project Managers.

Work Location

This role is based out of our Bellevue, Kent, or Puyallup, WA offices. Remote candidates within Washington are welcome, with occasional travel to WA offices.
