Mantech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements, design and code new software or modify existing software and debug defects.
• Design and develop new backend components or enhance existing software using best-in-class tools and languages.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories and design or implement complex database interfaces/queries.
• Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards; develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
• Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints. Design, develop and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes.
• Partner with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university; an additional 4 years of related experience may be substituted for a degree.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing applications deployed in containers using Docker and Kubernetes

Security Clearance Requirements

• Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,400.00-$186,500.00. Factors that can impact final salary include contract wage determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies, geographic location, education and certifications, and Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
