About the Role

Youth Theatre Arts Scotland is seeking an NFYT Administrator to join our team in the delivery of our flagship event, the National Festival of Youth Theatre 2026. Before the Festival you will be a key member of the YTAS team, ensuring the smooth preparation and administration of the event. During the festival you will join the team in residence at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness. Camping accommodation, transport, and all meals during the festival will be provided.

This is a fixed‑term freelance position for 50 days from February to August 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co‑ordinate NFYT 2026 planning and administration, ensuring preparation, logistics and communication are executed efficiently.
  • Work primarily from home during the pre‑event phase (approx. 42 days), with occasional in‑person meetings in Edinburgh.
  • Operate full time in residence at the National Festival of Youth Theatre in Inverness for five days (Thursday 3 – Monday 6 July).
  • Conduct post‑event debrief meeting and documentation (three days, July/August).
Commitment
  • Pre‑event: ~42 days (January – July 2026) – homeworking & occasional in‑person meetings.
  • During event: 5 days – full time residence at Eden Court Theatre.
  • Post‑event: 3 days – event debrief meeting.
Timeline
  • Application deadline: Monday 12 January 2026, 9am.
  • Interviews: Tuesday 20 January 2026 (online via Zoom).
Additional Information

This is a remote‑working organisation. The role requires a period of residence at the National Festival of Youth Theatre in Inverness during the festival. All accommodation, transport and meals during the festival period are provided.
