A leading battery technology center in Coventry is seeking a Process Engineer for a 12-month contract. This hands-on role involves the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes, particularly in welding and joining technologies. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience and a degree in Engineering or Materials Science, alongside expertise in lithium-ion battery technology. This position offers a chance to work on cutting-edge projects in a high-technology environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in process engineering, manufacturing development, or industrialisation.
• Proven experience in developing and optimising processes within a high-technology environment.
• Knowledge of welding processes and standards.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Industry certifications in welding (e.g., AWS CWE, CWI).
• Experience in lithium-ion battery technology or automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and scale advanced manufacturing processes with a focus on welding technologies.
• Design production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct process simulations to identify bottlenecks.
• Implement quality control procedures to meet specifications.
• Provide welding methodology for new products.
• Support feasibility trials and production runs.
