Halliwell Jones Warrington is looking for a Vehicle Technician.

Your role

The position is located at our Warrington Centre which is a modern facility consisting of Aftersales, Bodyshop and BMW and MINI Sales. Hours: Average 43.83 hours per week (42.5 hours Monday to Friday and 4 hours 1 in 3 Saturdays). If you love getting hands‑on with repairs and fixing cars, look no further. We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Vehicle Technician to join the team at Halliwell Jones (Warrington) Ltd—our state‑of‑the‑art centre that brings together BMW and MINI showrooms, Aftersales, and Bodyshop all under one roof.

Main Objective of the post
  • To carry out service, diagnostic and repair work efficiently.
  • To complete repair orders to Manufacturer standards, including service check sheets, battery test reports, printouts when required from manufacturer’s diagnostic equipment and all other necessary reports.
Your profile
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent City and Guilds or BTEC accreditation).
  • Technical knowledge and passion for Manufacturer products and technology.
  • Highly skilled at fault diagnosis.
  • Deliver first‑time fix to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work within given timescales and complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Ability to comply with warranty write‑ups.
  • To ensure all chargeable labour and workshop consumables are recorded on the job card.
  • Highly motivated, team player that offers help and support to others, attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and develop personal knowledge and keep up‑to‑date with complex/technical/product information, in order to improve profitability.
  • An outstanding attitude and passion for customer service.
  • An enthusiastic, dynamic and team orientated personality.
  • Ability to deal with customers when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer applications and diagnosis equipment.

What we are looking for
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a technician within a franchised dealership (BMW experience preferred).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with BMW diagnostic systems (e.g., ISTA, Autologic).
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Passionate about automotive technology and the BMW brand.
  • Professional, reliable, and customer‑focused.
