Transformation Manager – NHS Transformation Office
gtd healthcare is one of the largest NHS commissioned Primary and Urgent care providers in North West England. Based in Denton, Manchester, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Transformation Office, an enhanced Programme Management Office (PMO).
gtd healthcare delivers a diverse range of healthcare services across the north‑west from GP practices, urgent care and treatment centres in hospitals and a clinical hub and care coordination centre within our head office in Denton, Manchester.
Core responsibilities
- Support the Head of Transformation in developing and implementing changes identified within gtd's corporate strategy.
- Deputise for the Head of Transformation when unavailable.
- Lead business development and tendering processes, identifying new opportunities and liaising with colleagues across the organisation.
- Use programme and project management expertise to ensure the delivery of gtd's strategy and vision in a structured way.
- Carry out horizon scanning for future developments within the NHS.
- Liaise with managers, project leads and Heads of Service to scope projects and maintain high professional standards.
- Ensure all activities align with programme and project plans, manage exceptions, interdependencies, benefits, quality and risk management plans, and develop contingency plans as required.
- Report progress to the Head of Transformation and relevant boards and committees.
Other duties
- Support preparation of documentation for project governance groups including Finance & Audit Committee, Operations Committee, gtd healthcare Board and team meetings.
- Prepare project briefs, initiation documents, quality impact assessments, business cases and other necessary documentation.
- Assist with producing project documentation (workbook, risk register, communications plan, status report, etc.).
- Any other duties agreed with the line manager to meet organisational needs, including travel.
Person Specification
Experience
- Business development and tendering experience.
- PMO knowledge or experience.
- Understanding of the healthcare environment.
- Successful project delivery experience.
- Experience working in a large complex organisation.
- Generating reports for senior management teams.
Qualifications
- Prince 2 Practitioner or similar professional project management qualification.
- Degree or relevant healthcare qualification.
Skills and Attributes
- Clear communicator with excellent written and presentation skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and Teams.
- Ability to take ownership of issues, tasks and actions.
- Team player and able to work autonomously.

£52,479 to £59,173 a year, depending on experience.
