Full‑time | Monday to Friday (with flexibility for out-of-hours support)

Salary: Up to £57,000 per annum (DOE) + Company electric vehicle

Now, we’re looking for a Technical Services Manager to join our growing team working with our customer National Gas. This is a pivotal, national role responsible for delivering excellence in hard services across a varied UK‑wide portfolio, covering the South of England.

What You’ll Do

As our Technical Services Manager, you will lead the strategic delivery of technical services, ensuring compliance, consistency, and innovation across all sites. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing hard services delivery and statutory compliance across the national portfolio
  • Managing outsourced maintenance contracts and internal engineering teams
  • Maintaining and optimising the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule based on SFG20 and manufacturers' guidance
  • Supporting area managers with PPM and remedial works
  • Reviewing and validating quotes, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Managing helpdesk and CAFM functions
  • Leading and developing engineering teams to deliver high‑quality service in line with H&S and statutory requirements
  • Acting as the Authorised Person for Electrical Works, providing technical assurance and leadership
  • Driving supplier performance through regular reviews and continuous improvement
  • Supporting future planning and infrastructure strategies
What You’ll Bring (Essential)
  • 5+ years’ experience in Facilities Management, covering both hard and soft services
  • Recognised engineering qualification
  • Authorising Engineer / Authorised Person in M&E disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, PPM planning, and energy utilisation
  • Experience managing technical teams and contractors nationally
  • IBOSH qualification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAFM systems
Desirable
  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. Prince2, APM)
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (IET, CIBSE, etc.)
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets
  • Proven success in leading change management initiatives
