Location:

Somerset preferred. We’re flexible on location for the right candidate. The successful candidate must be able to travel to Taunton four days per month.

Purpose of the role & how you will contribute:

As TB Policy Specialist, your part in the NFU’s strategic ambition to eradicate bovine TB will be developing, delivering and championing bTB policy. Working under the direction of the TB Group Lead, you’ll influence government, agencies, industry partners and NGOs, support the bTB Policy Advisory Group, and ensure members’ interests are at the heart of policy. You’ll lead on clear, timely communications so NFU representatives and members are informed, engaged and equipped to act on bTB issues.

What you’ll bring:

You’ll be educated to degree level in an agriculture‑related discipline or have equivalent working experience, along with knowledge of bTB policy and effective partnership working. Highly organised and confident managing projects, you’ll communicate complex issues clearly, build trusted stakeholder relationships and represent the NFU professionally. You’ll be analytical, politically aware and comfortable working under pressure, producing accurate briefings and guidance at pace, while juggling a diverse workload and travelling as needed to support members and the wider bTB Delivery team.
