Job description

Location : The Lister Hospital, Chelsea Bridge Road, London,SW1W 8RH

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday with rotational Saturdays. Shift pattern to cover opening hours of 8am-6pm

About the Role

The Staff Nurse will support the Sisters and Senior Staff Nurses to ensure the smooth running of the LFC. Assist couples undergoing fertility treatments and be responsible for implementing and monitoring patient treatment cycles. Maintain effective communication channels between patients, staff and satellite services. Maintain the highest standard of clinical practice and patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertake training and guidance from senior staff to develop skills and competencies in fertility nursing.
  • Assist senior staff in the co‑ordination of activities within the Unit.
  • Liaise with clinicians, nurses and paramedical staff to enhance patients’ treatment and care.
  • Carry out clinical duties in a professional and compassionate manner and in accordance with HCA International, NMC and HFEA guidelines.
  • To help maintain the clinical area so that it is safe and welcoming for patients, visitors and staff.
  • To assist senior staff with the smooth running of the clinic ensuring a high standard of nursing care.
  • Be responsible for the scheduling of patient treatment cycles.
  • To enter patient information and treatment cycles on the computer and maintain and update as required.
  • Perform phlebotomy in accordance with HCA phlebotomy policy and deal with queries from HCA Laboratory.
Skills & Experience
  • NMC Registered
  • Previous experience in IVF setting – not essential
  • Previous experience in gynaecology or women’s health setting – desirable but not essential
  • Evidence of professional update
  • An understanding of the HFEA code of practice
