Role Summary:We are seeking a passionate and qualified Sprints Coach to deliver weekly training sessions for our sprinters on track. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in athletics coaching, a commitment to athlete development, and the ability to inspire and mentor athletes of varying skill levels. SPRINTS COACHING OPPORTUNITY

Post Title: Sprints Coach – University of Leicester Running and Athletics Club
Location: Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium, Leicester, LE2 7NQ
Hours of Work: Mondays, 6:30–7:30pm
Start Date: September 2025

Club Background:
The University of Leicester Running and Athletics Club is a vibrant student-led sports club focused on providing high-quality coaching, inclusive participation, and competitive opportunities in athletics. The club is looking to build on its success in sprint events by appointing a dedicated sprints coach who can support student athletes in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver athlete-centred sprint training sessions, tailored to different abilities.
Educate athletes on sprinting techniques, race strategy, and performance optimisation.
Monitor and assess athlete progress, providing constructive feedback.
Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for all members.
Ensure athlete safety during sessions, adhering to best practice guidelines.
Liaise with club committee members regarding athlete development and session planning.
Stay current with coaching methodologies and developments in sprint training.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

A recognised UK Athletics coaching qualification (minimum Athletics Coach/Level 2 or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of sprinting technique and conditioning.
Excellent communication and motivational skills.
Experience working with athletes in a club or university setting is desirable.
Commitment to promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and athlete welfare.
