Randstad are recruiting for Qualified Social Workers to join South Lanarkshire Council as a Team Manager for their Criminal Justice Service. This is a full‑time role offering a competitive pay rate.

Responsibilities
  • Provide regular, structured supervision to staff, particularly high‑risk casework
  • Operational and casework oversight – allocate cases effectively and manage workload to meet court deadlines
  • Guide staff in high‑priority areas such as assessment and management of violent and registered sex offenders (often via the MAPPA framework)
  • Monitor quality of Criminal Justice Social Work Reports (CJSWR) and case files to ensure statutory compliance
  • Lead chair of reviews for Community Payback Orders (CPOs) and Risk Management Case Conferences
  • Ensure compliance with the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968 and the Management of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2005
  • Manage and monitor team budgets, avoiding overspend and ensuring efficient resource use
  • Implement new national initiatives such as “Diversion from Prosecution” and changes to “Throughcare” (post‑release supervision)
  • Liaise with Police Scotland, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) and the Courts
  • Contribute to the Community Justice Partnership to develop local strategies that reduce re‑offending
  • Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings regarding Child and Adult Protection where justice service users are involved
