Job summary

A leading care provider in Fareham is looking for dedicated support workers to mentor young people facing emotional challenges. In this role, you will provide guidance, ensure safeguarding, and assist with daily operations in a nurturing environment. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience working with children in similar contexts and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare. Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience working with children with emotional/mental health needs.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

  • Be a role model and mentor for young people.

✨ Who We Are:

ARC HD Services Ltd, part of Community Integrated Care, provides specialist residential and 1:1 support for young people aged 9–18 facing complex social, emotional, and mental health challenges, including ASD, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma‑related behaviours.

We run four small, nurturing homes—each supporting up to three young people in a warm, homely environment tailored to individual needs. Every child has their own private space, plus shared areas for connection and community.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

📍 Location: Fareham

🕒 Hours: 39 per week

✨ What You’ll Do
  • ✅ Be a role model and mentor for young people in our care
  • ✅ Support and guide your team, including two on‑call duties per week
  • ✅ Carry out audits (medication, observation sheets, keywork files) to keep everything running smoothly
  • ✅ Work closely with the Registered Manager and attend regular supervision meetings
  • ✅ Ensure safeguarding and compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
💡 What We’re Looking For
  • 🎓 Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • 💪 At least 2 years’ experience working with children with emotional/mental health needs
  • 🗣 Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • 🤝 A team player who’s flexible, adaptable, and self‑motivated
  • 🛡 Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • 🚗 Full UK driving licence for manual vehicles and access to your own car (due to the rural location of the home)
