About the Role

Pharmaron is looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 Administrator to oversee the administration, management and optimisation of Microsoft 365 services within a dynamic ITIL/ISO environment. The role requires advanced expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and PowerShell automation, to ensure seamless operation and continuous improvement of our Microsoft 365 services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the administration, management, and optimisation of Microsoft 365 services, ensuring adherence to organisational standards and best practices.
  • Oversee migrations, updates, and optimisations within the Microsoft 365 environment, leveraging advanced PowerShell scripting and automation techniques.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for complex escalations and troubleshooting, providing expert guidance and resolution to technical challenges.
  • Develop and document processes and procedures related to Microsoft 365 administration, ensuring consistency and efficiency in operations.
  • Perform patch testing and management of all end‑user devices, ensuring correct protocols are followed.
  • Mentor and guide IT team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to align Microsoft 365 initiatives with organisational goals and priorities, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in Microsoft technologies, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancement and optimisation.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and training initiatives, ensuring team members have the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
  • Monitor and maintain the security and compliance of Microsoft 365 services, implementing necessary controls to mitigate risks.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for Microsoft 365‑related projects and initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and delivery.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a Microsoft environment, with a focus on Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Extensive expertise in Microsoft 365 services, including Intune management, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Teams.
  • Proven experience in leading migrations, updates and optimisations within the Microsoft 365 environment, utilizing PowerShell scripting and automation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of modern enterprise architectures, identity and authentication services, and security and compliance principles.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent are preferred.
