Job summary

A leading UK university is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Translation Studies to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The successful candidate will have a PhD or be nearing completion and will lead the BA (Hons) Applied Languages course. Expertise in translation from Chinese, German, or Spanish is required, along with experience in Translation Theory and Practice. This role also involves research and knowledge exchange activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching Translation Theory & Practice and dissertation supervision.
• Ability to contribute to language teaching in another main language.

Responsibilities

• Take on Course Leadership of BA (Hons) Applied Languages.

Skills

Native or near native English speaker

Ability to translate from Chinese, German, or Spanish

Teaching experience in Translation Theory & Practice

Knowledge of sub‑titling and translation technologies
