About the role
As a Senior HCA, you’ll deliver hands-on care while supporting the wider team. Your responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, mentoring junior HCAs, reporting health changes and maintaining accurate documentation. You help ensure safe, structured and high-quality care across hospitals, care homes and community services.
You’ll assist with essential daily care while supervising junior HCAs, coordinating tasks and maintaining documentation. You help keep the shift running smoothly, ensure safety procedures are followed and support nurses with accurate updates on patient wellbeing.
Support with personal hygiene, washing, dressing and mobility to maintain dignity and comfort for each patient.
Oversee junior HCAs, organise tasks, prioritise workloads and maintain a well-structured and safe care environment.
Update care notes, record observations and report any changes promptly to nurses or senior clinicians.
Confident supervising junior HCAs and supporting smooth shift operations.
Experience as a Healthcare Assistant is required for this senior role.
