Job summary

A leading costs consultancy is seeking a Senior Costs Draftsman/Lawyer to provide expert drafting and negotiation support in commercial litigation. The successful candidate will have at least 6 years of experience and will focus on ensuring accurate cost documentation and strategic cost recovery outcomes. This hybrid role offers a competitive salary of £75,000 and supports study for ACL or Training contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in costs drafting, preferably within commercial litigation but not essential.
• Proficiency in drafting bills of costs for complex, high-value cases.
• Ability to advocate and negotiate favourable settlements.

Responsibilities

• Drafting Bills of Costs, Costs Budgets, and Points of Reply in commercial litigation matters.
• Preparing and assessing costs schedules for high claims.
• Negotiating costs settlements directly with opposing parties and clients.
• Liaising with solicitors and clients to ensure accuracy in costing documentation.
• Supporting the team in cost recovery strategies.
• Keeping up to date with costs-related case law.
• Supporting junior team members.
