Job Description

Grace Cook Primary School is seeking a motivated, committed and experienced Class Teacher with SENDCo (Special Education Needs Coordinator) duties to join our warm, passionate and forward‑thinking team. SENDCo

As our SENDCo, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering high‑quality provision for pupils with SEND. You will work strategically and operationally to ensure every child receives the tailored support they need to flourish, 2 days per week.

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Identify and assess pupils with additional needs and coordinate effective interventions
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and families
  • Liaise with external specialists and agencies
  • Maintain accurate SEND records, including EHCPs and provision maps
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision
  • Be a qualified teacher holding NASENCO or NPQ for SEN (or be working towards it)
  • Be a reflective, caring and knowledgeable practitioner
  • Be an effective communicator and confident leader
  • Be committed to improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
