Background info

Sunningdale Golf Club is widely regarded as having two of the best and most revered courses in the British Isles, both ranked in the world top 100. The Club has a proud history of hosting tournament golf, having recently held the Curtis Cup in 2024 and The Senior Open in 2025.

The Club was founded in 1900 and comprises a Clubhouse, a Professional Shop, two 18-hole Championship courses and a large expanse of heathland that is designated a SSSI and SPA.

The Club has approximately 1,000 Members and also welcomes visitor play throughout April mund early. There are around 60 full-time staff with additional seasonal staff.

Sunningdale Golf Club aspires to world class standards and operates to the Investors in People Platinum Standard.

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual who has an interest in Golf Operations and Administration of Competitions and Events to assist us in these areas throughout the busy summer months.

What key skills must the applicant be able to demonstrate to be successful in securing this position?
  • A good and solid understanding of Golf Competition Formats and Handicapping.
  • Very competent computer skills with a key eye for detail.
  • Very good organisation skills and diary/time management.
  • Able to follow directions and procedures set out by line Managers.
  • Willing to be enthusiastic to work as part of a team.
  • Discrete and able to work in an environment with high profile guests.
What department(s) of the business will the successful candidate be working in?

The role available is within our golf team assisting with Golf Operations which includes Reservations and Competitions along with Golf Day(GET) Support.

What skills can the successful candidate expect to learn during this placement?

The candidate in this position will be able to learn a great deal on how a top 100 golf club operates. This will include competition & event management, personal and people skills and have first hand experience working during a busy golfing season.

Terms

This will be a fixed term position available April to October.

Other key detail

This is a new role we have created for this season to assist our Reservations & Competitions Manager along with our Events Manager. This role will be split reporting and assisting both Managers in their respective areas to bring together the Truly World Class Sunningdale experience the staff aspire to.
