# Research Associate in Morphogenesis - Lab Manager (Fixed Term - 4 Yrs)We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time Research Associate to join Dr. Fengzhu Xiong's team at the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge.The successful candidate will be involved in studies of cell dynamics and tissue mechanics during embryo development. This post contains a dual research (~2/3 time) and management (~1/3 time) role. The candidate will work closely with the PI to develop new projects and tools, manage lab resources and support group members. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, they will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas including biochemistry, molecular biology, embryology, imaging, computation, soft matter physics and engineering. Furthermore, the candidate will receive support if they wish to take on career development activities including appropriate professional and graduate courses while in the role. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians and lab managers seeking stability and further career development in a vibrant team, and for researchers aspired to focus on the science without necessarily following the usual timeline and expectations of PhD/Postdoc training.It is essential that the candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, has a keen interest in the organisation and optimization of their work environment, and has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
