A community-focused church in Sefton is seeking an outgoing priest to provide spiritual leadership and foster unity within the congregation. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and organizational skills, able to engage parishioners and deliver Christ-centered sermons. Responsibilities include providing pastoral care, guiding ministries, and overseeing church programs to promote growth and learning from the Bible.
We seek a priest who is outgoing, welcoming, and approachable, with a proven record of strong leadership and organizational skills. Our next leader should embody compassion and community, guiding us through Christ’s teachings and helping the congregation learn and grow from the Bible. We hope for someone who is enthusiastic about the future of St. Philip’s and the greater community of Southport and Oak Island, while also supporting and strengthening our Pastoral Care Ministry and outreach efforts both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will be a caring and inspiring communicator, able to counsel with compassion, motivate with vision, and unify priest, staff, vestry, and congregation through clear goals and effective management.
Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care; preach Christ-centered sermons infused with passion and humor; guide ministries with initiative and clear direction; foster unity among the priest, staff, vestry, and congregation; support and strengthen Pastoral Care Ministry and outreach efforts; engage with parishioners personally to understand their needs; oversee church programs and activities to promote growth and learning from the Bible.
Strong leadership, organizational skills, and compassionate communication; ability to counsel with compassion, motivate with vision, and present a unifying voice; experience delivering sermons that are Christ-centered and practical; ability to engage the congregation and community in a welcoming, apolitical, and inclusive manner; commitment to living out God’s word and love in the community.
