Overview

Projects Manager – North & West Africa at Barnabas Aid. This role sits within the projects team, building strong relationships with partners on the ground in regions where the Church is persecuted or suffering. You will manage the full project cycle—from identifying and assessing opportunities to overseeing grants, monitoring impact, and ensuring accountability. This is a hands-on role for someone with excellent organisational skills, proven project management experience, and a heart for serving the persecuted Church.

What You’ll Do
  • Identify & Assess Projects – Engage with ministries, churches, and Christian organisations in North & West Africa to find impactful projects that align with our mission.
  • Grant Management – Oversee proposals, funding decisions, budgets, and reporting, ensuring projects meet objectives and deliver measurable results.
  • Partner Engagement – Build strong relationships, provide guidance and support, and represent Barnabas Aid at events and meetings.
  • Budget Oversight – Manage a sizeable regional budget with transparency and accountability.
  • Team Leadership – Lead and support a Projects Administrator, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Monitoring & Reporting – Conduct site visits, track progress, and share insights to shape future strategy.
What We’re Looking For
  • Deep empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by persecuted Christians in North & West Africa.
  • Strong cultural awareness and first-hand experience living or working in the region.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven project management and budget oversight experience.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the UK and internationally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Project Management, Theology, or a related field.
Bonus Points
  • Fluency in Hausa, English, or French.
  • Experience in grant-making or working within a non-profit organisation.
  • Knowledge of project/grant management tools (e.g. AIMS).
