Job Summary

Production Associate (Visual Inspection – SMT and Through-Hole) is a detail-oriented individual responsible for inspecting PCBAs produced through both SMT and Through-Hole processes. This role requires a willingness to learn, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work confidently with both manual and automated inspection tools. The Production Associate may be assigned to various roles across different manufacturing areas to support shifting business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Visual Inspection – SMT and Through hole:

  • Perform detailed inspections of PCBAs to ensure compliance with IPC standards.
  • Accurately identify and log defects using Delta Production software.
  • Rework common faults such as solder bridges, incorrect polarity, and missing components.
  • Carry out post-soldering and hand soldering tasks as required.
  • Transfer completed products to the next stage of the assembly process.
  • Maintain daily task updates in Intuiflow and Smartsheet.
  • Verify components against golden samples (both physical and photographic references).
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork by providing support to the Through-Hole assembly team when necessary.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of electronic components and PCB assembly.
  • Ability to recognize and correct common assembly/soldering issues.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-focused tasks.
  • Willingness to operate and learn new inspection equipment (e.g., AOI machine).
  • Familiarity with IPC standards is a strong asset.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, drawings, and reference samples.
  • Dependable team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Preferred 2 years of working experience as Visual Inspector in electronics manufacturing.

Compensation: $19.2/hr - $21/hr

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
