Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Level Chartered Building Surveyor to join our established L&I Technical Due Diligence & Commercial Building Surveying team. The role focuses on commercial building surveying with a varied workload, including professional and technical advisory.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver commercial building surveying services, involving mixed and varied workload, often balancing multiple instructions simultaneously.
• Act as part of a larger commission team, supporting exceptional outcomes for clients, and engage directly with clients.
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines, ensuring profitability of instructions (financial performance responsibility).
• Manage risk in service delivery and contribute to service delivery improvement initiatives.
• Drive organic revenue growth and implement the business plan for commercial building surveying offering.
• Conduct professional technical consultancy commissions such as Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys, LTAs, PPM schedules, etc.
• Communicate effectively to ensure all information is available for successful implementation and completion of projects.
• Work with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control and cost‑effective service.
• Represent the company professionally and diligently, providing quantified progress updates to the Sector Director.
• Support mentoring and supervising junior building surveyors.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree and MRICS qualified (minimum 3 years PQE).
• Multi‑discipline experience.
• Excellent relationship building and teamwork skills, capable of liaising with internal and external professionals.
• Global thinking, strong client management and confident communication.
• Independent project ownership from inception to completion, maintaining confidentiality.
• Flexible attitude with prioritization skills.
• Commercially aware, financially astute, and able to provide concise commercial advice.
• Ability to provide clear, commercial advice to clients and manage expectations.
• Deliver all outputs accurately and on time, providing guidance to junior team members.
