The Role

The Planning and Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating sustainable and responsible development initiatives while ensuring a high standard of customer service and collaboration with stakeholders. Operating from the client site, this role is central to conducting odour consultations, planning liaison activities, and addressing various queries related to development works. By leveraging expertise in urban planning and regulatory compliance, the Coordinator supports the client’s growth objectives and contributes to the successful delivery of projects against defined measures. Key responsibilities include engaging with developers and planning authorities, providing timely and accurate information, and fostering positive relationships to drive success. The role requires a strong customer focus, commitment to delivery excellence, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners using a “one team” approach to deliver against defined measures and meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a customer‑centric approach in all interactions, actively listening to stakeholder needs and providing timely, tailored support.
  • Capacity Checks: Conduct assessments to ensure developer and stakeholder needs are addressed.
  • Odour Consultations: Provide consultation services, addressing developer concerns and collaborating with delivery partners to ensure timely outcomes. Contribute to best practice development in odour assessment and mitigation.
  • Planning Liaison & Growth Identification: Engage proactively with planning authorities and stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and support planning consultations and appeals.
  • Pre‑Planning Enquiries: Respond to enquiries with accurate information and guidance, streamlining processes and enhancing service efficiency.
  • Building Regulations Queries: Handle enquiries promptly and consistently, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure compliance and high service standards.
  • Build Over & Declaration of Works: Review requests, providing guidance to developers and ensuring efficient processing in line with regulations.
