Painter / Handyperson

Ibis, Bridgwater

16 hours per week £11,232.00 per annum

The new‑build 144‑room ibis Bridgwater – opened in March 2021 – managed by Cycas Hospitality and is Cycas’ first property under the Ibis name by the Accor brand. The five‑storey property incorporates a ground‑floor restaurant and Bar, with meeting facilities.

Reporting to the Cluster Maintenance Manager, your core purpose will be:

Duties & Responsibilities

• Adhere to all training provided such as COSHH & Risk Assessments.
• Complete quarterly room checks on a daily basis following standards for maintenance issues, ensuring remedial action is taken on any shortfalls.
• Check public and back areas daily for maintenance issues, ensuring remedial action is taken on any shortfalls.
• Develop knowledge of hotel structure fixtures and fittings.
• Redecoration and refresh of public areas and guest bedrooms.
• Perform minor repairs such as patching holes or repairing damaged drywall before painting.
• Ensure a neat and uniform finish by blending touch‑ups with existing paint.
• Maintain the visual appeal of high‑traffic areas such as lobbies, guest rooms, hallways and exteriors.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programme.
• Follow and complete daily and weekly check lists of rooms and public areas.
• Organise any repairs in a manner that does not disturb guests.
• Ability to work on own initiative but, at the same time, be an integral part of the team across our two hotels in Bridgwater.
