Job description

We are recruiting for a Painter and Decorator for the local Council in Bournemouth, Dorset. The job involves assisting the Decorating team with general painting duties within council properties. This is an immediate start for the successful applicant. The position is a temporary 3-month contract initially, with potential for extension depending on workload. Future permanent opportunities may be available. Ideal for someone who has experienced a drop in workload and is seeking full-time work. Own transport is ideally required, but a van can be provided where possible.

Salary: £30,480 per annum (paid weekly at £14.99 per hour)
Hours: 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday (37.5 – 39 hours per week), 8am – 3.30pm Friday
The Role:

Performing general painting and decorating across BCP properties, assisting decorators in preparing work areas. Tasks include painting, prepping, masking, glossing, emulsion work, woodwork, walls, and minor filling and sanding.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • You are hardworking, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and possess good people skills.
  • You can work independently and on your own initiative.
  • All uniform and PPE will be provided.
  • You do not have any unspent criminal convictions.
