Join to apply for the Operations and Technical Team Leader role at West Northamptonshire Council.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our Operations team of up to 10 staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing accurate information to members of the Local Government Pension Scheme about pension entitlements within set performance standards.
  • Ensuring benefits are calculated accurately and processed in line with agreed procedures, SLA/administration strategy, legislation and audit trail requirements.
  • Delivering an effective team through performance management, ensuring work is completed to agreed timescales.
  • Ensuring casework is dealt with immediately at the point of contact or efficiently allocated to the appropriate team.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Previous experience working within the LGPS and, ideally, a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in analysing pension issues and providing reliable information to non‑specialists.
  • Initiative, planning and organisational skills to meet deadlines and service targets under changing conditions.
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office and general IT resources.
  • Experience using Altair and/or ERP is advantageous.
