What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Minimum of five (5) years of Acute Care nursing experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of Nursing Leadership experience
• Three (3) years of Surgical Services nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• ACLS and PALS certification
• Critical Care Course or Basic Coronary Care Course preferred

Responsibilities

A Nurse Manager Surgical Services (RN) who excels in this role:

• Interviews, selects and provides for training of new employees.
• Independently evaluates and determines work assignments and evaluates job performance; recognizes performances.
• Adheres to Corrective Action Policy for Employees.
• Completes daily departmental assignments.
• Edits and approves time worked in payroll system.
• Reviews, validates and codes invoices in a timely manner.
• Adheres to Grievance Policy.
• Develops and implements department and/or hospital policies relevant to patient safety and overall Strategic Plan of the organization; according to regulations and standards.
• Develops and implements effective strategic initiatives with positive interpersonal style to guide staff towards the accomplishment of identified objectives and goals.
