Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) – Level (NIPE) Children's Services

We are recruiting a Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) to join our Norfolk Institute for Practice Excellence (NIPE) programme. The role offers a supported start into statutory social work in Norfolk Children’s Services.

Overview

• Permanent contract (subject to successful completion of ASYE)
• Starting salary £37,280 per annum (Scale I)
• Up to 37 hours per week.

Key Support & Development
  • A reduced caseload that increases over the year in terms of case numbers and complexity, allowing you to build a solid foundation and diverse skill set.
  • A dedicated Practice Consultant and senior Social Worker to provide reflective supervision, learning groups and tailored 1‑1 support for the first two years, alongside your Team Manager.
  • Opportunity to learn from experienced social workers through group supervision and co‑working on complex cases.
  • Protected development time and training throughout ASYE, and access to training through our partnership with the University of East Anglia to pursue an optional MA in Advanced Social Work.
  • Option to start as a Social Work Assistant before registration with Social Work England, gaining experience and paid employment.
  • Continued support through the second year to suit individual needs.
  • Regionally competitive starting salary of £36,124, progressing to Level 2 with a £38,626 salary at the end of ASYE.
Requirements & Expectations

• Must be able to travel as part of the role and have a current UK driving licence and a vehicle. Provisional licence holders are welcome to apply; conditional offers may allow a delayed start of up to six months to pass the driving test. Failure to pass within six months will result in withdrawal of the offer.
