Occupational Therapist – Specialist Neurology Service (Harrow)

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Band: 6/7 | Location: Harrow | Contract Type: Locum

Medacs Healthcare are recruiting for a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Specialist Neurology Service within an NHS client based in Harrow.

Job Summary
  • Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), assessing and treating patients with highly complex neurological disability and maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Act as a clinical lead for the inpatient stroke and neurology Occupational Therapy (OT) service.
  • Work closely with the cross‑site Head of Inpatient OT and the Clinical Lead for Inpatient Services to support the development of the Neurology OT Service.
  • Contribute to the management of all aspects of the Neurology Inpatient OT Service, prioritising and organising all referrals and allocation of patients.
Essential Qualifications
  • HCPC registration.
  • UK‑recognised occupational therapy diploma/degree.
  • NHS experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of current OT best practice.
  • Rate: 20 – 26 per hour.
  • Full‑time hours (37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday).
  • Access to Health Assured (mental health and wellbeing support).
  • Block‑book shifts in advance to allow planning of work.

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: Syon Grange School – Isleworth, London TW7 5AJ (with flexibility to work across our Hillingdon Manor sites as required)

Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE + £000 Welcome Bonus (Welcome Bonus is payable as one payment of ,500 after completion of one month and one further payment of ,500 upon completion of your final probation period. T&C's Apply)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours (Part‑time hours may be considered)

Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs.

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
  • Valid and up‑to‑date HCPC Registration.
  • Registered member of RCOT.
  • Relevant experience in providing occupational therapy services within a similar setting is preferred.
  • Experience with neuro‑divergent and/or learning difficulty and/or socio‑emotional and mental‑health difficulties.
  • Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence.
  • Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, flexible and confident.
  • Clear and concise report writing skills.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence, with access to a car.
  • Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferable, however not essential).
Occupational Therapist – CAMHS Professionals (North London)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs using evidence‑based, patient‑centred approaches.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments using specialist tools including MOHO assessments.
  • Plan and deliver individual and group therapy interventions.
  • Consider both physical and mental health needs in all assessments.
  • Promote social inclusion, recovery, and relapse prevention.
  • Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in care planning and clinical decision‑making.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Provide education and training to patients, carers, and staff.

Service Development

  • Contribute to service planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Participate in audit projects and research activities.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance.
  • Engage in reflective practice and promote best practice standards.

Professional Standards

  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Prepare specialist reports and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Comply with COT Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

Occupational Therapist – Newly Qualified / PO1 Level (Brent, London)

About the Role

  • Complete person‑centred functional assessments under the Care Act to identify physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychological needs.
  • Develop and implement short treatment plans to promote independence in daily living activities.
  • Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, providing an OT service to adults with physical disabilities, complex needs, or mental health conditions.
  • Provide equipment, minor adaptations, and demonstrate safe use to clients and carers.
  • Support with manual handling assessments and write appropriate care plans.
  • Contribute to housing recommendations, including Disabled Facilities Grants and adaptation reports.
  • Recognise and raise safeguarding concerns, and with support, undertake Section 42 enquiries following Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
  • Apply the Mental Capacity Act and make best‑interest decisions where appropriate.
  • Participate in learning events, supervision, and training to develop knowledge and skills.

Job Title: School Based Occupational Therapist

Location: Primarily school‑based with work within a clinic setting.

Salary: Up to £50,960 FTE, dependent on experience – all experience levels considered – multiple positions available due to growth.
