A leading engineering company in Scotland is seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a permanent, full-time role based in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will carry out inspections, repairs, and testing on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment. Ideal applicants will have completed a mechanical apprenticeship and possess solid experience in equipment maintenance. This position offers 37.5 hours a week with opportunities for overtime. Qualifications

  • Completed a mechanical bias apprenticeship or formal qualification.
  • Solid experience in the repair and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical equipment.
  • Prior automotive or agricultural experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, repair and test hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workshop and ensure equipment is in good order.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding project timelines.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments.
  • Work on-site as required.

Job description
The Role and Responsibilities

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop in Aberdeen. This is a full time onshore position offering 37.5 hours per week with opportunity for overtime. You will be expected to carry out the inspection, service, repair & test of hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical equipment. Other main duties will include;

  • Inspection, service, repair and test of all equipment brought into the workshop hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical dependant on equipment allocation and experience including winches, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hot oil flushing of hoses and pipework, hook balls / blocks, crane boom
  • Ensure workshop area is kept clean & tidy and all company equipment is kept in good order
  • Ensuring project requirements are met within time allocated or raising with Supervisor if there is an issue with this
  • Working as part of a team with members of the workshop and other departments
  • Uphold the standards of the company and work in line with the company systems and objectives
  • May be required to work on site locally as and when required
The Requirements

To be successful in the role you will have completed a mechanical bias apprenticeship or achieved a formal qualification and have solid experience in the repair and maintenance of most of the equipment outlined.

You may have come from a automotive or agricultural background and are looking for an opportunity to work in oil and gas.
