Materials Assistant

The Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (SDU) at UCH is a highly respected unit and has certification to ISO 13485 and is MDR accredited. The unit is based in University College Hospital and provides a centralised decontamination service to UCLH Foundation Trust. Allied with this is the centralised Endoscopy Decontamination Unit (EDU) for flexible endoscopes, a satellite Sterile Services Department serving our dental hospital and a Neonatal Decontamination Unit.

Main duties of the job

Our ideal candidate will have a commitment to personal development and the ability to work in a conscientious and flexible manner whilst ensuring that the department's high standards are maintained. Experience of working within a decontamination facility is preferred. Experience is managing technical materials and consumables as well as experience with surgical instruments will be an advantage.

We are seeking to recruit Sterile Services materials assistant to work with our technical team. We are looking for a strong and committed organiser with a good grounding within this sector and a strong knowledge of sterile Services and decontamination equipment.

The unit is open 24hrs and 365 days of the year.
