Job summary

A leading engineering services company in the UK is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support operational activities in production and assembly. The role demands strong engineering skills and the ability to provide technical guidance, interpret technical drawings, and lead process improvements. Successful candidates will collaborate within a high-tech team, contributing to diverse projects in a dynamic environment. Experience in manufacturing processes, especially with rotating components, is required, along with a degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent needed with proven practical Engineering & manufacturing knowledge and experience.
  • Candidates without accredited qualifications will be considered depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving skills to manufacturing and assembly teams.
  • Act as communication line between manufacturing/assembly and engineering.
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for gear profile generation.
  • Lead PFMEAs; incl. process mapping, risk mitigation and procedures creation.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement activities with respect to quality and process improvements.

Skills

Working knowledge of manufacturing methods of rotating components
Detailed understanding of dimensional measurement systems
Strong understanding of GD&T
Good knowledge of gear manufacturing processes
Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment

Education

Engineering Degree or equivalent
