Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure optimal machinery performance in food production. Job description

Location: Chartham, Canterbury, Kent
Hours: 5 days per week, from a 7-day shift pattern
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor / Head of Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining machinery and equipment performance across all packhouses, to minimise downtime and ensure production runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on all packing and grading equipment.
  • Keep machinery clean and in good working order in compliance with hygiene and BRC standards.
  • Record maintenance activities accurately in the system and submit documentation within required timescales.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, reporting issues promptly.
  • Support team flexibility by covering shifts as needed.
What We're Looking For

Salary

Salary is dependent on skill level, with overtime available at a higher rate.
