Job description
Machine Shop Technician

Location: South Queensferry
Salary: £32,000 DOE (including shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: 4 days (Mon‑Thu, 06:00 – 15:15) or 4 nights (Mon‑Thu, 20:45 – 06:00)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and help to improve/develop processes.
  • Solve production problems and continuously improve in all areas of operation.
  • Structure and prioritise work in a logical and orderly manner to achieve business & personal objectives.
  • Work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures.
  • Ensure the accurate use of the Time & Attendance systems.
  • Respond professionally and innovatively to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that quality standards are never compromised.
  • Be aware of and actively reduce the incident rate of non‑conforming errors within the team.
  • Create a “clean‑as‑you‑go” policy and maintain WIP and stock areas.
  • Ensure plant and equipment are maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects.
  • Be willing to be trained in other production areas.
  • Adhere to safety, health, environmental and quality policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible and willing to work additional hours where reasonably required.
  • Promote and adhere to the ‘Values in Action’.
  • Complete any other duties as deemed reasonable by management.
