Following the construction of Cardiff Barrage in 1999, Cardiff Harbour Authority was created to run, operate and maintain the Barrage under the Cardiff Bay Barrage Act 1993.

About the job

Reporting to the Shift Manager within a team environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the operation of lock gates, sluices and fish pass as part of the Cardiff Bay Barrage Act 1993. In addition you will be responsible for the effective operation of Pont y Werin Bridge.

You will be required to liaise with the Barrage Engineering team to ensure effective operation of the Barrage and Pont y Werin. In addition you will be responsible for ensuring safe systems of work operate on site.

What We Are Looking For From You

You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to team work and have a flexible attitude. You will be expected to work a shift rota to include nights, weekends and Bank Holiday working.

This vacancy is suitable for post share.

Shift working is a requirement of this post for which a shift allowance of 10% of salary is payable.
