Job description
Overview

The Manchester College is seeking a Level 7 Assessor (Adult Provision) to support adult learners with diverse needs. You will deliver and assess high-quality, inclusive teaching tailored to adult learners working towards qualifications in areas such as personal development, employability, or independent living. This role requires a flexible, learner-centred approach and a commitment to promoting progression and independence. You’ll hold a relevant Level 7 teaching qualification and Assessor award (e.g. TAQA/CAVA), with experience in adult or supported learning. This is a permanent, full-time position based at Nicholls and City Labs campuses, 35 hours per week.

Location: Nicholls and City Labs campuses, Manchester

Salary: £30,307.50 – £44,451 per annum

Contract: Full time, 35 hours per week

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Level 7 qualification in Exam Access Arrangements Assessing or SpLD Practicing Certificate
  • Specialist Dyslexia/Dyscalculia Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or achievement of such within 2 years of employment
  • Bachelor of Education with QTS, Certificate of Education or PGCE
  • Current and valid industry specialism in SpLD and EAA Assessment
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
  • Minimum Level 7 occupational qualification; English and maths minimum Level 2 (Grade C or 4 and above)

Also, at least one of the following:

  • A postgraduate level course at or equivalent to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessments of learners with Dyslexia/SpLD and/or Exam Access Arrangements
  • A current SpLD/Practising Certificate, as awarded by BDA, the Dyslexia Guild, or PATOSS and listed on the SASC website

Additional notes: English and maths minimum Level 2 Grade C or 4 and above; and related theoretical and statistical knowledge relating to psychometric tests and assessment.
