Job description

Cambridge Center for Adult Education (CCAE) is a nonprofit organization with an annual operating budget of $2.5 million and a staff of 15 full‑time employees. We run nearly 2,000 classes over four terms, taught by over 200 professionals who are experts in their chosen fields. CCAE owns and operates two historically preserved properties in vibrant Harvard Square. (More information about CCAE can be found at www.ccae.org/about)

CCAE is seeking an experienced Korean Language instructor to teach in‑person classes at our center. The instructor will deliver weekly Korean language courses ranging from beginner to advanced, integrating culture (songs, literature, film, holidays) into the curriculum and following the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The role involves engaging a diverse student body, collaborating with other experienced instructors, and contributing to a friendly, group‑based learning environment.

The hourly rate begins at $25+ per hour, commensurate with experience. Instructors can also take one free class per term (up to $300).

Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • BA or MA preferred.
  • Knowledge of Korean literature, culture, and related topics.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student body from various cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with the CEFR, language acquisition theory, and effective teaching methods.
  • Enthusiastic team player, motivated to collaborate with highly dedicated instructors.
  • Punctual and reliable.
