Salary:
From £13.90 per hour, dependent on experience

Hours of work:
Full Time, 40-50 hours a week with 2 days off

The job description

Junior Sous Chef: a typical day
  • Preparing dishes & ensuring food is served to a consistently high standard
  • Working closely with the Head Chef planning menus & developing new dishes
  • Liaising with suppliers & placing orders, while keeping to budget
  • Monitoring and maintaining consistent portion and waste control to maintain set profit margins
  • Assisting the Head Chef with staff rotas, management & training of team members, and leading the kitchen smoothly in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and tidy at all times in line with health and hygiene safety regulations
  • Undergoing any training required provided to assist in the role

  • High standard of cleanliness
  • Ability to communicate all relevant information on nutrition and food allergens
  • Existing experience in a hotel restaurant or an establishment with a good reputation for excellent cuisine
  • Hold the relevant food hygiene certification or willingness to obtain them
  • Having a rosette background will be advantageous
